Google Ads Introduces Campaign Total Budget for PMax

Google Introduces Campaign Total Budget Feature for PMax

Google has officially rolled out the Campaign Total Budget option for Performance Max (PMax) campaigns, something advertisers have been waiting for. Until now, this level of control was only available in other campaign types. With this update, Demand Gen, Search, Standard Shopping, PMax, and YouTube campaigns can all run on a clearly defined total budget with set start and end dates.

For businesses working with fixed allocations, this update brings welcome clarity. Instead of worrying about overspending on a particular day, Google’s system now tracks how much has been used and automatically adjusts the daily spend for the remaining period. You stay within your limit, no surprises, no extra charges, while still giving the algorithm enough freedom to improve performance.

This feature is especially helpful for short-term promotions, festive campaigns, product launches, or any initiative where every rupee must be accounted for.

How to enable Campaign Total Budget

  1. Open Campaigns from the main navigation.
  2. Click the plus (+) icon to start a new campaign.
  3. Set up your bidding strategy, campaign settings, and assets as usual.
  4. Under Budget, choose Campaign total budget.
  5. Enter the total amount you want to invest and select your Start and End dates.

You can extend the end date anytime if your campaign needs more days to deliver results.

This update gives advertisers more control and smarter spending, making it easier to stay consistent with planned budgets while still benefiting from Google’s automated optimization.
